MaryAnn Jovicic

My passion for artistic expression began at age 9, when my parents enrolled me into Gymnastics. I was fascinated with the intricacies of movement and technique, and this is when my thirst for knowledge began.

I soon progressed to Physical Culture/Jazz and it is from there that I commenced taking dance classes at a local dance school. I participated in school talent shows and local performances and also took up drama. I spent much of my teenage years practicing my moves instead of doing my schoolwork......Much to the dismay of my parents.

At 16, my expressive art took a different turn when I put down my dancing shoes and take up a different form of art.....Martial arts. I competed in a few tournaments and enjoyed the discipline and training but when my school was relocated, I could not continue.

After this, my focus shifted to a very unusual yet highly rewarding outlet. I became involved in animal rescue and veterinary nursing. After rescuing and nursing many animals back to health, I realised I would need to take a different path as my house started to resemble more of a zoo.

Throughout the many chapters of my life, my passion for dance had never left my heart and this is what prompted me to begin my quest for a style of dance that best expressed my passion, personality and individuality. In my pursuit for a dance school, I came across Latin Motion in February 2005.I began to learn ‘On 2’ under the instruction of Oliver and have never looked back.

While at Latin motion, I have learnt many different styles and techniques from many of the talented teachers. I have participated in many Latin Motion performances and recently won the ‘2007 Best female in Rising Stars’.

I hope you enjoy my classes....I offer a happy relaxed atmosphere with a friendly and approachable nature. I love to watch my students improve and grow and I encourage them to achieve to their full potential.......The sky’s the limit!!!!!!!
